Workshops are held at Edenwood, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The cost includes morning coffee break, a three course lunch & Tea Time in the afternoon.
Below are LAST YEAR'S classes - so that you have an idea
of what you'd do for your 'Day in the Country'.
For any group of 5, I will set a date at your convenience and
do whatever type of workshop that you're interested in ...
just give me a shout.
NEEDLE FELTING A BAG:
Cost: $60
Kit: $10 - includes felting needles, foam, fiber & embellishments.
We will learn the basics of the Art of Needlefelting, experimenting with different fibers. You will be able to create a small bag - an eyeglass case, an ipod holder, a little purse - whatever you want it to be. Or you can do it as a wall hanging. As time allows you'll be able to work on a second one if you wish.
No experience is necessary - it's a technique that is very easy to master. The possibilities for creative expression are endless. Caution: Needle Felting is addictive.
CRAZY QUILTING:
Cost: $60 Kit included.
Just like in the 'olden days', we will spend the whole day, 'quilting'. You can choose from a Christmas Stocking, a little bag or a pillow cover. I have piles of fabric to choose from & you are welcome to bring any that is special to you, that you'd like to incorporate in your piece. By the virtue of design & embellishment, Crazy Quilting can be as plain or fancy as you please.
SCULPTING WORKSHOP - THREE DAYS
$85 a day Kit Fee: $20
We will create a figure, about 10 to 12 inches tall - whatever character you would like it to be - a Santa, or anyone else.
Day One: We will spend the day, starting from the basics - making a core for the head & sculpting a face using polymer clay.
Day Two: We will make the hands & feet from polymer clay and learn how to make a wire armature & poseable body.
SNOW CHILDREN:
Cost: $60. Kit: $5.
I've been making these little folks for years & just love them. We will start with actually making the faces, by learning how to make a push mold from a little figure or doll. We'll spend the morning creating little faces from air dry clay & while we feast on lunch, they'll be drying & ready to paint in the afternoon. We will then make the bodies & clothing. If time allows, we'll also make little Snow Angels that make a nice Christmas ornament or are cool as a unique bow for a gift.
A BAG OF TOYS:
Cost: $60 Kit: $10
This is a fun day. We work with a variety of techniques & create a whole bunch of different things. We will learn how to 'Re-birth' & 'Re-create' - taking stuff that exists and making it much cooler:) We'll make little books, little sheep, do a bit of needle felting, a bit of sculpting, a bit of painting ... you'll go home with a bag of toys that would be a great acessory for any Santa that you might have - or even as decorations for your tree, or little gifts.
